Joseph Paladino [he/they] is a photographer and collagist from Rochester, New York. Maybe you’ve met him at Bug Jar. Chances are you’ve seen him at one of the coffee shops, probably with an iced coffee and headphones on, editing photos or laying out a new zine. He fell in love with photography in high school and is almost never without a camera (or two) in his messenger bag to capture the world as he sees it. These days he is primarily a live music and portrait photographer, working to document the Rochester music scene in conjunction with The Sound. On the flip side, his collage his explores a fictional and experimental universe, conjured in his imagination and documented in Tangental Slipstream, a collage zine he self-publishes under Scavengers Tooth Press. His works, both photographic and collage based, have been featured in regional and nationally juried exhibitions at the Memorial Art Gallery, Flower City Arts Center, Main Street Arts, and Behind the Glass. In addition, he hosts an hour of freeform radio every Monday morning on WAYO 104.3 FM, a community funded and volunteer run low power radio station. Everywhere he’s been is a part of him but he can’t relate the intangibles to you.
